Happy New Year

Well I may be a little late wishing you a Happy New Year, 

but better late than never !

I hope that all of you who celebrate Christmas enjoyed the festive period and are raring to go for a whole new year of great Rock 'n' Roll,  and everything that goes with it.

A Very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from everyone here at Petals, Pins and Purls.

We have had our creative heads on these past few weeks making lots of festive gifts and attending lovely Christmas fair's and events.

We have really enjoyed meeting up with old friends and making new one's too.

Rufus the Reindeer

Rufus was made for our annual family 'raffle' when we all gathered together for a pre-Christmas lunch.

These make cute little handmade gift's for special friends and family.

These were just a few of the handmade items that we have showcased over the past few weeks.

A special big thank you to all our family and friends who have encouraged and supported us over the last year, we couldn't do this without you.

The Petals, Pins and Purls stall will be attending many events over the next year and we will keep you updated of where they will be and of course of any great Rock 'n' Roll events too.

Already booked for the Brighton Jukebox and Retro fair in April 2012, the Wildest Cats in Town Xmas 2012 Weekender and many more.

Children in Need

We like to support charity events whenever possible at Petals, Pins and Purls,

so i have been busy this week creating a hand knitted Pudsey bear for Children in Need, which has been donated to the fundraising event in our local Asda store in Chelmsford.

Go along and get your raffle tickets, ask for Emma the local Community Colleague. 

(Also our daughter)

Good luck Emma, raise lots of money for a good cause.

Crafting spending spree

Well I must say sorry I haven't blogged in a while, here at Petals, Pins and Purls I have been busy spending the past few weekends out and about buying lots of crafting bits and bobs to help me create some lovely vintage inspired goodies for the Petals, Pins and Purls stall.

 A recent visit with my sister Christine to Alexandra Palace in London for the Knitting and Stitching show, was the perfect day out to pick up not only some lovely crafting supplies but for some inspiration too..  Well worth the visit.

 I love the vast range of fabrics I have picked up while we have been out and about, I enjoy hunting out little fabric and wool shops, usually with hubby Darren in tow driving me around Essex and beyond. Why not let me know where your favorite haberdashery shop is.

Rummaging though buttons, ribbons and threads my idea of heaven.

Flowers, flowers and more flowers, here are just a selection of fabulous silk flowers waiting to be made into gorgeous hair accessories.    Displayed in my lovely new jug, brought especially for this photo !

Great Night Out

Ever at a loose end on a Sunday evening ?

 

If so then pop along to the Castle pub, Southend on Sea, on a Sunday night and see some great live Rock 'n' Roll bands organised by Spike and Linette every week.

We went along last night to see our good mate Theo with his new band -
'The Dog Gone Honkabilly band',
